Diogenes Villanueva Baena, Aug 19, 1927 - June 16, 2011
Diogenes "Diony" Villanueva Baena
1927- 2011
Father to Diogenes, Jr (Mary), Silverio, Imelda (Frederic), Federico (Evelyn), and Araceli (Neil)
Grandfather to Ben, Tomas, Liam, Chloe, Adrien, Mia, Anton, Alexander, and Isabelle
Godfather to scores of godchildren
Throughout his 50-year partnership and marriage to Belen, his long career as an engineer at Central Azucarera de Bais, his one-time record of 20 consecutive years as a Bais councillor, as well as his ventures in farming and small business, Diony touched and impacted on the lives of countless number of people.
Along with Belen, their decision to immigrate to Canada at his age of 50, forsaking the comfortable Baisanon life to start a new life in a new country, is a decision that his children and grandchildren will forever be grateful!
He will rest in peace!

2 hours before shooting a wedding video
It's 2 hours before the start of my very first wedding DSLR video shoot and these are very anxious moments. It's not because I fear not having a product to deliver, it's that I'm afraid the product won't be as good as what I'd like it to be. Overdosing on close to 200 videos by stillmotionblog on their vimeo site makes for an extreme case of inferiority complex. Hanging heavily on my mind is the fact that I am a one-camera shooter (literally) with the barest of equipment (see my blog entry: The Challenge: to shoot a wedding video...)
I guess I'll have to play to my strengths, and that is as a Stills photographer. Capture as many "stills-in-motion" as possible and cook up (edit) a decent meal from these ingredients.
Stay tuned...

iPhone Diaries #377: "Rhubarb"
First pick of the season from the very small rhubarb patch in the backyard. This patch + Mary's magic makes for the best pies! June 5th.

Mrs. Robin(and)sons
It's an oft-disturbed location, a nest built under the back-of-the-house deck, between a well-used clothesline and the backyard deck. We noticed the nest soon after the eggs were laid, and it's been an uneasy peace in the nest, esp. on the weekends when the grass is cut, the clothes are hung out to dry, and the deck is used for family activities.

PRIORITIES
"A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
