The end quote of the film is an excerpt from an incredible story by writer David Dudley that we highly suggest reading: 'What Our Dogs Teach us about Aging.' http://www.aarp.org/health/healthy-living/info-2014/aging-in-dogs.html [Thank you for saying it so perfectly, David]

The very best "Last Words", I think.

Sony Diaries #916: heavenly smell

There are few heavenly smells in this world that can compare to a freshly-cut tree in autumn. What follows is a process that can take a year before the tree's promise of warmth can be realized. There is the cutting the wood to length, splitting to fit a stove, and piling/stacking to dry (at least six months).
If there is a heaven, i want to be in a forested paradise, in the Fall.
