50th Wedding Anniversary!

That's right, Fifty years of loving and living together!
These days, more and more couples are into alternative living arrangements: common-law, "shacking-up", open relationships, etc. The fact is, couples are not cementing their partnerships by getting married. Statistically,  50% of marriages end in divorce. So it is quite rare these days for two people to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary in fine style, in good health, and with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as with friends from Canada, the Philippines, and from around the world.
It was indeed a privilege to take part in this rare feat of a  celebration! Please click here for more photos!

"... exploring the profound and lasting impact that bullying can have on an individual"

To This Day is a project based on a spoken word poem written by Shane Koyczan: (http://www.shanekoyczan.com) called “To This Day”, to further explore the profound and lasting impact that bullying can have on an individual.

Schools and families are in desperate need of proper tools to confront this problem. We can give them a starting point... A message that will have a far reaching and long lasting effect in confronting bullying.

Animators and motion artists brought their unique styles to 20 second segments that will thread into one fluid voice.
This collaborative volunteer effort demonstrates what a community of caring individuals are capable of when they come together.

"when Hayley proposed to Karlee"

I responded to a Want ad on Craigslist for a videographer to document a marriage proposal. Hayley, a stand-up comic who has performed in many venues, was planning on proposing to Karlee, onstage at Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club in Toronto.
I jumped at the opportunity to hone my skills in a situation where retakes is not an option, and where stage lighting would be tricky and recording the audio would be a challenge. I can read up on how to do this but there's nothing more exhilirating than just jumping in.

iPhone Diaries #561: Rob

A portrait should always reflect, hint at the very least, the sensibilities of the subject. Rob is a modern-day photographer with the sensibilities of the classic B&W portrait photographers of the early 19th-to-mid 20th century. Think Speed Graphics and Rolleiflexes.
iPhone 4S using PS Express, Be Funky, Snapseed, and finally, Photoshop CS6. Feb 14th

iPhone Diaries #560: Coffee with Rhoadie
