The Real and True Conservative

Re: Fox News and its ilk.... did you know?

that  "for decades, radio and television broadcasters had been required to present multiple viewpoints on contentious public debates on the grounds that they were stewards of the public airwaves. But in 1987, members appointed by President Ronald Reagan to the Federal Communications Commission abolished this fairness doctrine. The change facilitated the creation of conservative talk radio and cable outlets to combat perceived liberal bias."

The Right Direction by Philly Katman

The tune is catchy "singable-and-hummable", and reminds me of the theme song from "Welcome Back Kotter", written and performed by John Sebastian. Found this video while reading Articleman's blog, as  found in dagblog. Articleman writes on his final presidential election prediction.

Milkweeds

Milkweeds are like snowflakes and air bubbles trapped in ice. No two are alike. In addition, one milkweed pod alone is worth a few images when looked at from different angles and various photoshop techniques. In the fall and winter, the leafless milkweed with its burst and dried pods is very organic, resembling/echoing other forms in nature. The delicate filament-like hairs known as silk or floss is a dramatic contrast to the rough textured pod exterior. Milkweeds, found in forest clearings and open fields,  provide for endless hours of fascination, on the spot and later on as digital captures.

The U.S. election, blogging as an inspired exercise, and a study in Birches.

I haven't been able to significantly blog in the last 4 weeks: acute bronchitis and work pressures have taken up most of my mental space. In addition, the political and activist animal in me has been been caught up in the U.S. elections.  As a non-U.S. citizenship, I can't vote but the issues discussed and ignored  (climate change is conspicuous by its non-mention)  have engaged me like never before.
I'm just now getting back into the rhythm of blogging, which always starts with observing my environment with an open mind.
Birches have fascinated me since I laid eyes on Ansel Adam's work as well as living in Caledon, with its woods and open fields. A lone birch is interesting but the addition of each tree to a grove leads to an exponential increase in fascination.
