Olympus Trip 35. Kodak Gold200
Why does film hit different (sic)?
In reference to the photo above, it's the film grain, plus the relatively ancient lens that has a personality, and the organic ways in which light excites the film grain, cooked in a chemical soup, and scanned by a film scanner that has its own set of characteristics.
Add to this the deliberate choice of subject matter (after all, film photography is expensive, and choices have to be prioritized), the visualization, the anticipation, to that 'gotcha moment'.
And doing this on an ancient point-and-shoot, fixed lens camera with zone-focusing, and guesstimate exposure details.
